- Ask for at least 10 transcripts. You will need them for scholarship applications.
- Have three teachers you can ask for letter of recommendations. Ask for a general recommendation so you can use them for any scholarship.
- Ask for some letters on letterhead, some scholarships require letterhead.
-Make copies of the letter recommendations just incase you need it for another one.
- Stay on top of the people who will be writing your letter of recommendations, remind them of the due date. Have a set date when you need it back.
- Put each scholarship application in a Manila folder and write down the name of the scholarship, due date and requirements.
- Put the application in your file divider.
- Save ALL your essays!
- Put the question at the top of your essay so you can go back if you need to use it for another essay.
- Read all emails that your school sends pertaining to scholarships they are very important!!
- Check Naviance, your school websites, and your county website for scholarships!!
- Apply for local scholarships!
- If you do not meet the requirements still apply 9/10 most people who meet the requirements don’t apply.
-Please mail your applications early!! Money is competition now that you’re seniors! Post office closes at 3pm so make it your best friend #2 and be there!
- Ask for a receipt from the Post Office. Track your applications once you mail them in.
- Make copies of the receipts you receive from the Post Office in case a scholarship says they did not receive your application.
