Today is the first day of summer!!
This is an important time for students to take a break. After spending months in school, your mind needs a mental break. I encourage you to go outside for fresh air, enjoy the sun and spend less time on your phone. It is important for you to also create some goals you want to accomplish. In between your breaks or self care days make sure you create a list of things you want to accomplish during the summer and for the upcoming school year.
Parents, encourage your teenagers to stay active and involved in community events. Also try to carve out some time to talk about their goals for their senior year. Ask your teenager, what it is they want to do or find interest in. Do not be afraid to ask what makes them happy because it shows you are interested and supportive of their future. Try to visit some schools or universities that your teenager has in interest in to give them an idea of what life is like after high school. You can also encourage your teenager, to shadow someone in their career interest of choice as long as it is consented. But most of all, enjoy the summer with your teenager!
Have a great summer!!
