What Should I Be Doing in June?
In June, this is the time to contact those you are interested in writing you a letter of recommendation. This is also the time to schedule college tours/visits. It is important to seek a personal tour of the school and see what the school has to offer. You want to ask all the questions you can so I heavily advise bringing a notebook to with questions. Some questions you can ask are ….
What is the school’s population?
What is the campus like during semester?
Are there clubs and organizations for freshmen to join?
How accessible are the professors and/or staff?
What are the dorms like? Can I have a tour inside of the dorms?
Is there study abroad opportunities?
What food options are available on campus?
What and where is the nearest pharmacy, grocery store, gas station, mall, hospital?
What is the campus safety like and are there safety procedures in place?
Is there any tutoring services?
What is the normal class size?
Keep in mind this is the university or school you will be attending for the next 2-4 years so you want the most out of your experience. Do not be afraid to ask your tour guide a multitude of questions. That is what they are there for.
